Everyone that is around software development for several years have already been at the situation where an “eco” is constantly buzzing at your ears, saying “are we there yet ?”
Asking for this every half-hour will not get you there quicker, will have a stress increase effect on the individual that is making the code, or feature, making him to create more errors ( your beloved bugs ) and making the logical thinking to slow down resulting on a slower development time.
So, every time you ask “are we there yet ?”, that would usually mean that you are increasing the distance to get there. When the developer gets there, for sure he will warn you that we have got there.
If you are the kind of person that get’s impatient and can’t control the “are we there yet ?” impulse, there are some things you can do to avoid this:
- Go out for a massage
- Go lunch with a friend
- Go for a long walk or a coffee at the beach
Have you been on this situation before ? What advices would you give to avoid this ?
