PHP and MongoDB Web Development – The book

Just been analyzing the “PHP and MongoDB Web Development ” book, by Packt Publishing.

The books introduces the audience to usage of MongoDB including:

  • Brief introduction to NOSQL movement
  • Installing MongoDB
  • Creating databases on MongoDB and definition of Document and Collections.

The Book is definitely a good resource to beginner users who want to enter on a practical MongoDB usage, as it approaches the basic topics of MongoDB attached to real world application (Session manager, Web analytics), as for intermediate users who want to user more advanced features of MongoDB like GridFS, Geospatial Indexation.

If you are looking to get into MongoDB world, this book is a nice complement to online documents, that delivers content on a ordered way to drive through most of MongoDB features.
